528 residents participated in the community survey about Karlin Real Estate’s proposal for the
former 3M site.
How familiar were respondents with the proposal?
57% somewhat familiar
31% not familiar
11% very familiar
How familiar were respondents with the zoning changes?
52% were only somewhat aware
25% were fully aware
23% not aware at all
This tells us that most neighbors are newly engaged and want to learn more about how the
proposal may impact traffic, the environment, and schools.
Key insights from the aggregated survey responses:
Development of the LISD road for emergency access
67% support the 31% are unsure
2% oppose
85% were concerned about traffic on RM 2222 due to redevelopment
Top priorities for the site:

the need to complete all intersection improvements before occupancy

the requirement for a connector road between River Place Blvd and McNeil Drive.

The environmental features considered most important to protect are the Bull Creek

watershed, tree preservation, and visual buffers along 2222. About one-third of

respondents expressed interest in receiving updates about the LISD road project.

CONA will present a community summary compiled of the survey results, written comments and
ideas collected from the open house to Karlin Real Estate, city staff and Council Member
Duchen’s office.
